Highland Farms Water Management, LLC (HFWM) is the operating company for Highland Farms Association and the Highland Farms Ditch in Larimer County, Colorado. HFWM is responsible for water deliveries and canal maintenance on approximately 1 1/2 miles of open channel ditch.
Highland Farms Ditch is a lateral and carrying ditch off of the lower end of the Louden Irrigating Canal and Reservoir Co. and the Louden Extension IC&RC. There are six delivery gates off the Highland Farms Ditch with water delivered to approximately 200 acres of irrigated crop lands known as Highland Farms and approximately 180 acres of Highland Meadows Golf Course, Town of Windsor parks, and Larimer County Fairgrounds (The Ranch).
Irrigation water is primarily delivered to grass hay pastures, a wholesale tree nursery, and landscapes including the Highland Meadows Golf Course.
Irrigation water for all of the irrigated lands described above is measured using a long throated flume located on the Highland Farms Ditch and downstream of the Ptarmigan Diversion on the Louden Extension IC&RC.
